The Maths Volunteers Foundation plans to organise a five-day Maths & Soft Skills Workshop in Peshawar from 14–18 December 2026, subject to funding approval. The workshop will support final-year Bachelor’s and Master’s students from Pakistan and Afghanistan* by introducing advanced topics in mathematics, including symplectic geometry, elliptic partial differential equations and spectral theory. It will also provide practical training in academic writing, professional communication, CV preparation, scholarship applications and career development.
The programme will include group activities, mentoring, networking and poster sessions. Before and after the main workshop, we also plan to hold outreach activities at colleges in Peshawar and nearby cities, bringing motivational mathematics lectures and soft-skills training to a wider group of students.
Our funding applications are currently under review. We warmly invite individuals, universities, organisations and companies to sponsor or contribute towards participant support, travel, accommodation, educational materials, outreach and workshop activities. Two members of the workshop team have secured individual travel support from the London Mathematical Society.
